M. Udin Silalahi is a Lecturer and Chief Editor Law Review of Faculty of Law Pelita Harapan University, Karawaci, Tangerang, Indonesia and part time lecturer at Postgraduate University of Indonesia, in European Studies, Jakarta. He was a part time consultant at the Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition from 2002 to 2013. His research interests are antitrust and competition law, comparative competition law, competition policy, merger and acquisition and political economy.
He was Senior Researcher of Economics Department, Centre for Strategic and International Studies, Jakarta, from April 2001 to December 2008, also lecturer at the Postgraduate Faculty of Law, Jaya Baya University, Jakarta, Postgraduate of the Institute of Business Law and Management, Jakarta and at Faculty of Law, Atma Jaya Catholic University, Jakarta.
M. Udin Silalahi received his degree in Law from the University of Atma Jaya Yogayakarta in 1985 and immediately joined the CSIS in mid of 1986. In 1995, he obtained his Master of Law from the University Friedrich-Alexander Erlangen-Nuernberg, Erlangen, Germany. His thesis was entitled: “Franchise according to the European competition law”. After receiving his doctor degree with magna cum laude in Law in February 2001 from the University of Friedrich-Alexander Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany, he immediately joined the CSIS in April 2001 again. His doctoral thesis was entitled: “Merger control in Indonesia according to the Government Regulation No. 27/1998 and the Law No. 5/1999 in comparison with German and European merger control”.

Murman Budijanto joined the Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition (KPPU) in 2001-2005 as Director for Communiction, besides as a member of Economic Working Group (2008) and an expert or resource person for some projecs of the Commission (2009). He often involved in numerous international scale seminars and training programs on Competition Law held in in Germany, South Korea and ASEAN countries. Accomplished his study as Industrial Engineering at Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, Bogor Agricultural Institute in 1987, Magister of Industiral Engineering and Management from ITB in 2000 and Master on International and Development Economics from Crawford School of Environment and Government, The Australian National University (MIDEc) in 2008. He is also actively making paper on Competition Law areas such as “The impact of Competition Law Enforcement to the Indonesian Cement Industry” (2009) and ‘The impact of KPPU decision in Indonesia’s mobile telecommunication industry” (2009).
Berla W Pratama
He received his bachelor of law degree from University of Sultan Agung, Semarang (2005) and obtained Master of Law Degree from University of Indonesia (2012). Currently, he work at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, as a legal senior manager. He has a lot of experiences in competition law practices. He has built an impressive career at the Commission for Supervision of Business Competition (KPPU) as an investigator and litigator, and handled many competition cases (cartel, abuse of dominant position, monopoly practices, merger and acquisition, bid rigging and exclusive dealing). After his resigning from KPPU, he joined with Melli Darsa & Co. and handled many competition law matters, such as merger and acquisition and exclusive dealing. During the time, he also actively participated in several international and national workshops and trainings related to competition law matters. He has also written numerous articles related to competition law, among his articles are “Monopolistic Practices in Airport Taxi Service Throughout Indonesia (Case Study : Hang Nadim Airport)” , Business Competition Journal (KPPU) (2009), and “The Procedures of Case Handling are More Transparent with Commission Regulation Number 1 Year 2010”, 22nd edition of Competition Magazine (KPPU) (2010).
